Moonlight shines down into the shallow waters, brightening coral, sparkling over the rippled sand floor. As divers take on ascending depths, all the fish scatter behind. Briefly, the waters are empty. And then creatures appear in the distance, seeming to waver in the shifting current. They scuffle forward, kicking up clouds of sand.

Night dive is truly intriguing. Yet, divers often miss a lot of what happens on a reef at night. Divers, alert and vigilant, stare out toward shore. The island reveals nothing but blackness. There comes scurrying sound, wetsuit and tanks scraping against boat. The divers jump.
